Foxconn says more than 10 humanoid robots are already working at its Texas sites
Short answer: Foxconn has put more than 10 humanoid robots to work inside its Texas facilities for its own use, and plans to roll them out beyond the state, Brand Cheng, chairman of the Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) unit, told Reuters on 30 October 2026, as reported by CNA and US News.
The robots are not legged walkers. According to presentation materials seen by Reuters, FII introduced two wheeled models in October: one built to lift items vertically, and one that can bend at the waist for assembly work as well as loading and unloading, The Straits Times reported. Foxconn has not published unit costs, the exact tasks each robot performs, or a timetable for the wider rollout.
On the software side, FII is developing AI models for its humanoids based on Nvidia's GR00T foundation model, the same reports said. Foxconn is Nvidia's largest AI server maker and runs six factory buildings in Houston, where it builds AI servers for Nvidia, according to CNA. The deployment figures are the company's own and have not been independently verified.
The update came at Foxconn's annual Hon Hai Tech Day in Taipei, where chairman Young Liu also said a new collaboration with OpenAI was in the works, without giving details.
