Robot e-skin startup MoSense raises about RMB 100 million five months after founding

Short answer: MoSense (模感科技), a Shanghai startup building electronic skin that lets robots sense touch across their bodies, has raised an angel-plus round of around RMB 100 million led by CDH Investments and Oasis Capital, according to STAR Market Daily and TechNode. Other investors include humanoid maker LimX Dynamics, Loongson Venture Capital, CAS Star, Hua Capital and Pudong Venture Capital Group, and STAR Market Daily says an unnamed leading domestic embodied-AI company also took part.

The company was founded in May 2026 by a team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, STAR Market Daily reported. Its MoSkin hardware builds sensing into structural parts using what the company calls electromagnetic metamaterial mechanics and magneto-optical 3D printing, while its MoTact algorithms process tactile signals at kilohertz sampling rates. Its next project, MoWorld, is a model meant to use high-frequency touch feedback to correct a robot's movements.

According to STAR Market Daily, MoSense is working with several leading robot makers on whole-body tactile systems and with robot ODM and OEM companies on deploying its system and models together. The company has not named those partners. Touch sensing is a growing area of investment as humanoids take on more contact-heavy work, as seen in research such as Amazon's whole-body carrying study.
