GXO adds Agility's Digit at two more US warehouses as Agility names three new paid manufacturing programs
Short answer: Contract logistics company GXO will deploy Agility Robotics' Digit humanoid at two more US e-commerce fulfilment sites, in Statesville, North Carolina, and Lebanon, Tennessee, according to an Agility press release published on 26 October. Deployments are expected to begin in early 2027 with the current Digit 4 and move to Digit 5 once it is commercially available, the company said.
The expansion builds on GXO's site in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where Agility says Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes under a multi-year agreement that began in June 2024. Humanoids Daily noted that the companies have not disclosed how many robots will go to the new sites, the contract value or a date for the switch to Digit 5, and that the 100,000-tote figure repeats an earlier milestone rather than giving an updated total. Agility CEO Peggy Johnson described the expansion by its first commercial customer as evidence of practical value, the outlet reported.
In the same release, Agility said three more manufacturers are taking part in paid programs: a major global automaker, one of the world's largest developers of automotive technology and components, and a global consumer products maker. None has agreed to be named. Agility also said it is in discussions with more than 30 prospective customers, including two early-stage potential subcontractor engagements supporting a branch of the US Armed Services, and stressed that no agreements have been signed for those.
Agility repeated that it has more than $300 million in committed multi-year orders for Digit 5, a figure it describes as potential multi-year value rather than current revenue. The company is going public through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI under the proposed ticker AGLT, according to Humanoids Daily. Earlier this month AGCO signed a Digit pilot in Kansas, and the new GXO sites are now listed in our humanoid deployment tracker and deployments hub.
