Why Reward AI's OM-1 humanoid parcel-delivery and stairs demo is getting attention

By Humanoid News Staff · Published · Last updated

Short answer: Robotics company Reward AI posted video on X on 27 October 2026 showing humanoid robots, controlled by its OM-1 model, taking parcels out of a vehicle for last-mile delivery and grasping objects while standing on stairs. The company says the clips are autonomous. By the morning of 28 October the main post had passed 320,000 views on X.

In follow-up posts, Reward AI said it had stress-tested the model on parcels placed in different positions and orientations, and that the robots adjust their approach, climb and descend stairs while holding the package. French site RoboActu, which covered the demo on 28 October, described how the robot adapts to a parcel's position before picking it up and moving off with the load.

OM-1 was introduced in September as the core of Reward AI's Omnibody system. According to the company, the model learns from people wearing a capture device, including a seven-degree-of-freedom glove called Omnibody Hand that records hand movement, contact and force, rather than from teleoperated robots, and the company says it does not use robot-collected data to train the general policy. Reward AI also says a new task can be learned from under 30 minutes of human demonstrations.

RoboActu noted that the videos are the company's own communication and that Reward AI did not publish success rates, numbers of attempts, comparisons with other models or customer-site results alongside them.
